18 Months Old

Mike and I took Laney to the O's Game to celebrate her 18 month birthday. Here is a picture of her clapping for the Orioles.

My baby girl is really becoming a little girl. She has an amazing vocabulary of more words than we could count. She is even starting to put together sentences. Although Mike would like to pretend it never happened, Laney's first sentence was "I need binky!"
She is starting to count and knows which number comes next but doesn't count though the entire 1 - 10 solo, yet. Same thing with her ABCs. She will do A-B-C-D and then just periodically chime in as you finish the alphabet. She can do some puzzles, knows all body parts and most animals. Pretty much anything we try to teach her, she remembers. She loves her friends. Especially Quinn and Ana (Juliana). She asks for them often and gets excited to see them. She also asks for Oma and Geepa pretty often. Naturally, when Mike isn't here I hear "Daddy?" quite a bit as well.
She gives great hugs and kisses. She loves to play in the park and at the pool. She isn't afraid of going under the water and blows bubbles. She also drinks a fair amount of pool water, deliberately.
As you can see from the photo below, she does not enjoy random Cracker Jack vendors at the Orioles game. The poor guy was just trying to make friends with her. She told him how she felt about being taken for a ride. At least Mike got some free Cracker Jacks out of it....and a good laugh. I'm guessing the Orioles won't be contacting us to use this photograph in their promotional material.
